Deer Creek Bedroom Refresh

The Goal: A Sophisticated Master Bedroom

This master bedroom was such a fun project. This couple wanted a cozy, elegant retreat with bold colour and hints of warmth and softness. They also wanted a feature wall behind their bed and a gallery wall highlighting some of their special family photos.

AFTER:

We designed a board and batten grid wall framing the sconces on either side of the bed (Evening Sky by Benjamin Moore). This made their fabric headboard pop, highlighting its elegance and making the 9ft ceilings feel even bigger. The accent wall also worked beautifully to showcase the warmth of the side tables.

I kept their original bedding but added some creamier hues with a new lumbar pillow, throw and pillow shams. Gold sconces and a spray-painted mirror added feelings of warmth and calm.

All remaining walls were painted Silky White by Behr, and we created a gallery wall to personalize this space and display their sweet family pictures. Plants helped to bring life and brightness to this oasis.

At the 11th hour we decided to add a basket light to the previously capped ceiling fixture. With limited time and budget, we decided to make our own using a basic pendant light and repurposing an outdoor table from HomeSense. This ceiling light added so much to the room, and gives it a cozy, boho vibe. The perfect place to relax!

Design and Construction: Ashley Lewchuk (Intentional Space)
